Today (May 19, 2024 - Pentecost Sunday) Archbishop Pinder administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 73 young people from our New Providence parishes.
Archbishop encouraged each confirmand “share your faith with charity and defend your faith with confidence. ‘’

The Episcopal Ordination of Bishop-elect Kendrick J. Forbes, J.C.L. as Bishop of Roseau is scheduled for Thursday the 25th of July 2024, the Feast of St. James, Apostle.
It will take place in Roseau, Dominica at 4:00 p.m.
Let us keep Bishop-elect Forbes in our prayers as he prepares for his new assignment.

Holy Father Pope Francis has appointed Reverend Father Kendrick FORBES of the Archdiocese or Nåssau, Bishop of the Diocese Roseau - Dominica.
The Rev. Kendick Forbes was born in Nassau, Bahamas, on August 20th. 1975. After attending primary school (Clarence Town All Age School) and secondary school (NGM Major High Buckleys) in Long Island. He moved to Indiana (United States) to train for the priesthood at the "St. Meinrad College Seminal)'" where he completed his initial studies, earning a bachelors degree in history. He then obtained Master of Divinity (MDiv) and a Master of Theology from St. Meinrad School ofneology•, He also obtained a Licentiate in law from the Catholic University Of America and was ordained priest in Nassau on 11th. June 2002. He held the following functions

The date of his Episcopal Ordination is Still to be finalized and then announced.
The Antilles Episcopal Conference (AEC) is a Roman Catholic episcopal conference. Its members are bishops and archbishops from current and former British, Dutch, and French colonies and dependencies in the Caribbean (excluding Haiti), Central America, and northern South America. The conference's membership includes five archdioceses, fourteen dioceses, and two missions sui iuris. These particular Churches minister to Catholics in thirteen independent nations, six British Overseas Territories, three departments of France, three countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and 3 municipalities of the Netherlands proper.

The Antilles Episcopal Conference of Bishops (AEC) will gather for the 68th Annual Plenary Meeting (APM) in Nassau, Bahamas, hosted by The Archdiocese of Nassau, April 14-16, 2024.
The week will commence with an opening Mass at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral on Sunday, April 14 at 6:00 p.m. The Most Rev. Archbishop Patrick C. Pinder, STD, CMG, KC*HS, Archbishop of Nassau will be the celebrant.
The AEC is an Assembly of Catholic Bishops referred to as a Conference of Bishops. It is a unique conference which brings together nineteen dioceses and two independent Missions.
The conference comprises of thirteen independent countries, three departments of France, two parts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and six British Colonies. The bishops meet once a year for a weeklong meeting, held in difference Dioceses each year.
The Archdiocese of Nassau previously hosted the conference in 1998. The aim of the meeting is to foster unity among the bishops through prayerful discernment, sharing of views and experiences. The bishops discuss various pastoral initiatives that benefit the faithful in their Arch/dioceses.
The President of the Conference is Archbishop Charles Jason Gordon, Archbishop of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Archbishop Pinder served as President of the Antilles Episcopal Conference of Bishops from May 2011 to 2017.

The Catholic Archdiocesan Annual Appeal is the major fundraiser of the Archdiocese of Nassau. Each year parishioners are encouraged to participate in practicing this stewardship, while becoming involved in a greater responsibility of the local church here in The Bahamas. Along with funding various programs in the archdiocese and the community. The Catholic Archdiocesan Annual Appeal is also designed to assist our parish in fundraising efforts for our specific needs.
